Digitalis is excited to announce training events focused on Digitarium NG (Next Generation) planetarium systems. Whether you are an expert or a complete beginner, this training will be beneficial for you! You will also meet other Digitarium users in your region.
Day one will provide an overview of Nightshade NG capabilities and interfaces, with a particular focus on teaching live, interactive programs with a Digitarium system. Day two will focus on writing software scripts (StratoScript). The optional third day will cover Augmented Lessons creation. You can find out more about Augmented Lessons here.
Registration cost includes computers to borrow for script testing, lunch for each day of training, and morning/afternoon break food and drinks.
We have performed three regional trainings so far in 2019, and we have one more scheduled:
- Butler University. Indianapolis, Indiana from November 7-9, 2019
- Bishop Museum. Honolulu, Hawaii from January 9-11, 2020
Please note that we need to have a minimum of 10 participants to run a training. Attendance is capped at 24 people so that instructors can give all attendees the amount of support they need.
Here are a few comments we received on our anonymous surveys sent after the first two trainings in 2019:
Well worth the cost. As with most classes, you get out of it what you put into it.
It is an in depth discussion of Nightshade NG and it is hosted by very knowledgeable individuals.
The scripting and augmented lessons parts were incredibly valuable for me.
It was so great to have [the instructors] there to answer questions for me and help with troubleshooting
rather than spending hours alone trying to troubleshoot myself with limited experience.
I feel much more confident now and feel like our system is a lot more valuable to me now that I had this training experience.
I wish it was offered more frequently and the expense rolled into the purchase price of the system! I can't imagine NOT attending!
Great experience that significantly boosted my confidence that I can use the system effectively.

I lost count of the number of 'wows' I heard over the 10 days of the festival. I was doing 5 or 6 shows a day. 60 kids per time on the 4 school days and around 400 people through on the public days.
